Here’s my idea: I have been using the pen and paper at bedside to capture my middle-of-the-night fears and anxieties, but that doesn’t reflect the breadth and nature of my soul. I cannot regret feeling love and the joyous elation it brings!!!
So my vow this 31st of December 2007 is to utilize these nocturnal writing sessions not just as personal therapy, but as a means of sharing I and I brighter visions. This is crunch time; we shall build Itiopia in the face of impending disaster. A single flower blooms in the desert. That’s you.
A few projects I’d like to see come to fruition or be commenced in this crucial coming decade include: A new city in southern Gaza Palestine; An Asia West Parliament in Jordan and/or Syria; A new AU headquarters near Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; A World Temple of Faith in Messawa, Eritrea; A world parliament near Montreal, Canada; Restoration of Thebes / Karnak in Egypt; A solar wall around the Sahara Desert; A windpower electricity line across Canada.
Onward to 2008!!!

written at 3.30am this morning, in the middle of a sleepless, anxiety-filled night
I am a forty-niner
beginning to learn about pain
I love my mother and father
Thanking God for all their days
Maybe it’s because tomorrow’s New year’s Eve
Or did I sleep too much lately?
I’m fearing sore ribs and aching shoulders
Hoping quitting smoking will help
I panic and reach for the Light and a pen
but I have light and paper
and a family to write about
Heather’s been so wonderful
It’s hard to put into words
We’re appreciating each other
In ways we didn’t know were possible
Rebecca may be moving out next year
A friend has a gramma who will give them a condo
I miss her already but I know I’ll see her
I’ll drive her somewhere and we’ll talk and we’ll eat
Aaron is playing guitar now
I can’t say anything else delights me so
He’s starting to write songs, it’s exciting
We can jam out each other’s tunes!
David is a wonderful gentleman
Into rock music and graphic novels and movies
He helps take care of my back
I thank him and Jah for that
Micah is my baby
Who has grown so much taller
Comin’ up on seventeen
She’s a pleasure to behold
Some may say she’s stubborn
I say she takes after her father
From morning to night
She’s a beautiful soul
I was feeling too much pain
at the start of this poem
I’m feeling better now
May I rest may I sleep

(Written 23dec07) This is the last Christ Mass I will enjoy b4 turning 50 years of age, pray to Jah I make it until June. I admit I have been totally blessed to have both parents still vibrant, loving, and very much alive!
The family is doing great, but I worry that I won’t be able to find a publisher for The First Messiah, a historical novel I have written that illuminates the 1st Century AD. I also hope to meet a producer for my proposed film project Ari Loves Salome. It’s based on excerpts from The First Messiah, focusing on the story of Jesus (Aristobulus) and his wife Mary Magdelene (Salome).
It is 1.45am on December 23rd and I have some survival runnings to do tomorrow and Monday, and then on Christmas Eve we will gather at my sister’s place in Mississauga on Christmas Eve. On Christmas Day it’ll be over to my wife’s family’s place in Markham, plus I’ll get to see my dad on Boxing Day.
As for New Year’s Eve, we don’t have any plans yet, but at the most we would go to a house party. Funds have been tight, and anyway, if we are around it makes it easier for us to know where our teens are.
When I am writing, I notice no pain in my shoulder, and all sense of panic is gone from my breathing. If you’re going to be losing some sleep anyway, why not turn a Light on and write something down? You are connecting with humanikind, and the searing aloneness disappears.

Have you ever thought about blogging your way into retirement? If one could build up a big enough and useful enough web network, it is conceivable that this can generate a consistent stream of revenue. I am certain there are tens of thousands who already get Google cheques on a regular basis …
Even if it took 5 or 10 years to get up to a consistent $50 to $100 per day, it seems like it would be worht it, to be your own boss and have publishing vehicles available to you. My goal for 2008 is to publish my novel The First Messiah, or at least find an agent or publisher. My other main goal is to get tobacco out of my life …
Secondary goals include further developing the film treatment and screenplay for Ari Loves Salome (based on excerpts from The First Messiah that highlight the relationship between Jesus Aristobulus and Salome Mary Magdelene) and starting to record my next CD, particularly the song Water.
Regarding the title of this post, I am off work for ten days, plus I pulled a muscle near my right tailbone, so blogging and driving my family around have been my main activities this Holiest of Seasons. The Solar Intelligence Blog is my mash-up, a mix of Yuya Joe writings, Middle East peace news, renewable power technology and world music and culture, all under the theme of Clean Energy as Path to Peace.
Just today I launched a new blog on geothermal energy investing, and yesterday I showed my love for pacers and trotters by building a standardbred racehorse website, focusing on breeding, racing and betting on harness horses.
A few days ago I built a new blog about the Rasta Faith, and I hope to be contributing to this Ras Tafari blog for many positive Irie years to come. I try to post interesting articles to our Nature and Ecology Blog, and also to our guide to best alternative energy websites and blogs.
I got to see all my close family members and I do thank Jah Above for this time of relaxation and reflection. Peace 2 All and a Happy Happy New Year Monday night. Have fun, stay safe, be inspiring!!!

Give U Everything
Lyrics by Yuya Joseph and Music by Michael St. Clair
Back in the summer of twenty-o-five
We were fighting in the streets just 2 stay alive
U never knew what was coming next
Warfare and terror eatin’ brightest and best
People turning 2 religion 2 hide
From one another and all the reasons 2 cry
Nobody told me ‘bout the sun and the shade roles
I wanted your heart mind body and soul
I only wanted Everything
We were young and relentless
Our passions burned hot
I’m gonna give U everything
My story life world visions
Everything I’ve got!
I’m gonna give U everything
I’m gonna give U everything
I’m gonna give U everything
Gonna give U give U give U give U
Give U everything
‘Twas in the autumn of twenty-o-eight
Things were really looking up, Irie, jus feelin’ great
Two very long days since the birth of Iyasus
Cusp of a New Day, a Spirit a Muse
I couldn’t believe my good fortune 2 meet U
See your smiling face, hold your hands, and greet U
In Beijing and Addis and at home in Canada
We’re rockin the world from Athens 2 Asia!
I only wanted Everything
We were young and relentless
Our passions burned hot
I’m gonna give U everything
My story life world visions
Everything I’ve got!
I’m gonna give U everything
I’m gonna give U everything
I’m gonna give U everything
Gonna give U give U give U give U
Give U everything
